“You shouldn’t be afraid to discover something new”

– Rinat, Kazakhstan

The Path to Becoming an International Truck Driver in Europe

It all started when Rinat encouraged his friend to try working as an international truck driver. The friend agreed and went to work in Lithuania, and later Rinat decided to experience the profession himself. He began his career in the Czech Republic.
He liked both the work organization and the atmosphere, but due to family circumstances he had to return to Kazakhstan. Rinat’s friend continued working in Lithuania and invited him to join and get a job at Girteka. Rinat decided to prepare the documents and return to Europe again—this time to Lithuania.

First Steps

When Rinat arrived in Lithuania, he felt excited and a bit nervous, like many newcomers.
But he was sure of one thing:

You shouldn’t be afraid to discover something new. Only by taking a step forward you can open the world and see how many sides it has.

Thanks to his friendly and communicative nature, Rinat quickly settled into the work routine and easily adapted to the new team of drivers at Girteka.

Why Europe

Friends in Kazakhstan were surprised: “Why Europe?”  Rinat replied:

Anyone who has worked here even once will understand how it draws you in.

For him, the main advantages of working in Europe are the strict observance of work and rest schedules, the comfort and convenience of driving the newest Volvo, Scania, and Mercedes-Benz Euro 6 trucks, as well as stability and on-time pay.

Experience and Growth

At Girteka, Rinat took training very seriously: he made notes and tried to absorb as much information as possible. Now even his colleagues come to him for advice.
He shared that in three years he has visited most European countries— a huge advantage for him, although there is a downside: being away from home for long periods.

Advice for Future Drivers

Rinat advises carefully choosing your employer:

Higher pay doesn’t always mean better working conditions. Look at the whole picture. And, of course, weigh all the pros and cons for yourself.

The Dynamic Nature of the Job

Rinat enjoys the dynamic nature of the profession.

It’s not just a monotonous job; it’s constant movement and growth.

According to him, every route is unique. The work requires attention and problem-solving skills, as the responsibility for the cargo and its timely delivery largely rests with the driver.

Every day brings something new. Today you drive along the scenic roads of France, tomorrow you’re loading aromatic oranges in Valencia, and over the weekend you’re on the ocean coast in Portugal.

Weekends add positivity to this job if you use them wisely. There’s the opportunity to visit new cities, walk along the coast or mountain trails, or even do sports if there aren’t any attractions nearby.

For Rinat, working at Girteka is not just a way to earn money—it’s a lifestyle that allows him to constantly grow and meet new people and countries.
